Cove DW2450 F-Code Reference
The Cove DW2450 service manual lists nineteen fault codes, but four account for almost every call we run. Knowing what they actually mean — versus what the manual literally says — is the difference between a one-visit repair and a parts-cannon.
F1 — Water inlet valve fault. The control didn't see expected water level within the fill window. Manual says "replace inlet valve." Reality: half the time it's a kinked supply line behind the unit, a partially closed shutoff under the sink, or low household water pressure. Always confirm 20+ PSI at the inlet before ordering a valve.
F2 — Drain pump fault. Control didn't see water level drop during drain. Manual says "replace drain pump." Reality: usually a clogged drain hose at the disposer connection, or a kinked hose under the toe-kick after a cabinet reset. Pull the drain hose first; a free-flowing hose with a healthy pump motor will not throw F2.
F4 — Turbidity sensor fault. The most replaced part we never replace. The sensor lens films over with detergent residue and reports incorrectly. Clean the lens with a cotton swab and white vinegar. Resets 80% of F4s. If it returns within a week, then replace.
F11 — Diverter motor fault. This one usually IS the diverter motor. The motor controls which arm gets water and stops in an indexed position. Wear in the indexing dogs throws F11 reliably. Stock part on the van, 40-minute swap.
